In May 2025 we asked women for their views on the content and structure of classes that we plan to develop, for women in the post-natal period.
Life events like having a baby can impact your pelvic floor muscles and lead to symptoms of pelvic floor weakness. But pelvic floor issues are not an inevitable part of life.
The Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) are working to develop Perinatal Pelvic Health Services across Kent and Medway. The service will offer three levels of treatment and support:
Online resources, videos and exercises for all.
For more common symptoms of pelvic health conditions, we will offer a class with specialist pelvic health physiotherapists to discuss symptoms, strategies and treatment.
For those who continue to experience symptoms, or for whom classes would not be appropriate, a 1:1 appointment with a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist will be offered instead.
The survey closed on Friday 4 July 2025.
Thank you to everyone who took part. We will make sure to read all of your responses and produce a report detailing the development of the classes!
